Custom Craftmanship
Each member of our team brings the best of their skills to your Commission. Each stage of your costume is overseen by people who specialize in their craft.
1. Fill out a Quote Form
You tell us about what you would like to commission and we respond with a ROUGH estimate of what your Commission would cost, based on the provided information.

You MUST BE at least 18 years of age to commission us, or your guardian will have to make the purchase for you.
2. Let's Hash out Details!
If you are interested in pursuing your commission then let's talk more details!
Some useful things to think about:
- We may have offered you multiple options, which do you like most?
- Do you want more items? Less items?
- Do you want to reduce some complexity of design to make it a little cheaper?
- Do you want to GO ALL OUT with details and make it mega cool?
- Do you have other references or information you want us to know?
- Any preferences of materials, or fit?
Let us know if you wish to pay in full, or do a payment plan (See our guidelines on Payment Plans if chosing this option).
Once we know all this we can issue you the Formal Invoice - which has a breakdown of all details discussed along with the final itemized price list as well as a Paypal Invoice. The Invoice does NOT cover shipping, that's a seperate charge once commission is complete.
Check over the invoice to make sure it's all correct!
3. Pay & Give us Measurements
Once we have full payment for your commission we can start your order! The involves sending you ref images (if needed) and fabric samples for your approval.
However, we can't get beyond that until we have your measurements (and DTD, if needed). So get those to us ASAP! Along with your confirmation of payment you will have received a list of the measurements we need from you.
4. We work on your order - in stages!
First we do carving, if you have a fursuit head. Then we pattern everything according to your measurements, with all the needed details that make your design unique!
Then your order get's cut out of fabric, then sewn. Then it goes to final finishing where things are furred, stuffed, and detailed as needed.
All along the way we send you WIPs (Work in Progress photos) to get your confirmation before proceeding to next steps.
Our turn-around-time for Commissions is typically 8 months. That's it!
But - there are things that can elongate the turn-around-time of your order:
- Not sending measurements and/or DTD within a month of final payment.
- Not responding to email communications fast enough.
(If we have to wait WEEKS to hear if you approve a WIP or not that's going to make your order take forever!) - Changes or add-ons to your order midway thru the commission.
5. You keep approving, and we keep making!
We continue to send you WIPs as we work, and we follow your provided references closely to make your Commission.
The potential of small adjustments and edits along the way are part of the process. We want to make sure you are getting what you want!
Within reason of course. If we make some big blunder - if we somehow made something totally wrong, we would be obliged to fix it at our own expense. That's our responsibility. And likewise - if you want something made different than what has been previously approved it may require a cost adjustment for the edit.
In that case we would quote you, and receive payment for the adjustment before proceeding. We will NEVER present you with some kind of surprise extra fee at the end of your order (aside from your expected shipping charge).
Things that may increase the cost of your order:
- If you want to add more items, or more details to your order.
- You approved a WIP, but later realize you don't like what you saw - but the item is already in another stage, so now it's a big deal to backtrack!
- You want a change that goes against previously discussed details. (ex: You ordered a 4ft long tail, but after it's halfway done decide you only want it 2ft long.)
We keep up a high level of communication in order to avoid these kinds of issues. So make sure when you are looking over your WIPs that you keep your eyes peeled - and don't hesitate to let is know if something seems off! 🐱
6. The Final stages!
Your Commission is almost done!
As we are wrapping up your order you will often receive more frequent WIPs as we finalize everything. Especially for orders the contain fursuit heads, since they really come to life in the final stages.
The final set of WIPs you will get is your commission worn on a model. Or displayed in such a way so you can see all it's details from various angles and get a sense of how the commission wears.
Please look over all these photos (and sometimes video) thoroughly in case you want any edits BEFORE it leaves the studio!
7. You love it and we ship it
If you want any final changes we make them. Once you've approved we send your shipping invoice!
Once paid your package will be send out within a week. Average shipping time is typically 3-5 business days within the USA, and 7-12 days internationally.
Going to a con?
If we are going to a con you are going to there's also the option of us delivery your Commission to you at the con. Just FYI.
8. You receive your Lemonbrat commission!
Take it all out of the box and try it on!
We will supply a basic write-up for how to wear your suit, so don't worry if you think it will be confusing! Just email us if you need extra wearing tips.
Please make sure everything fits well.
If you have any concerns, questions, or issues, please contact us right away so we can discuss. If you find something to be defective, please let us know and we can arrange an edit. We have a 3 month warranty from day of arrive for fixes.
