Lemonbrat's Terms of Service
Contact Email: lemonbrat@gmail.com
We have different policies for our Shop items versus our Commission work.
Please make sure you are referring to the right section for the order you intend to place or have placed.
Shipping
Stock items in our shop are either in-stock, or made within a few days of your purchase. They ship from our Chicago, IL location in 3-6 business days.
Upon shipment, you will be sent an automated confirmation email that includes your tracking number. Please check your email (and spam folder - just in case!) for your notification.
Packages are shipped USPS Priority Mail. Once shipped, they usually take 2-5 days to arrive within the United States, and 5-12 days to arrive outside of the United States.
Please be aware that International orders (those outside of the United States) may be subject to Customs charges or customs holds that are entirely out of our control. These are country-specific taxes that many countries charge when goods are imported. We did not charge you for these taxes, and are therefore not responsible for paying them.
Return Policy
We do not accept returns. However, we do accept exchanges or adjustments on anything found to be defective. Please contact us (lemonbrat@gmail.com) within 10 days of receiving an item to qualify for an exchange.
We are not responsible for any accidental purchases. Please double check that you have selected the correct style/size in our drop down menus to be sure you receive the items you wanted!
Exchange Policy
We offer exchanges of items for anything else in the store up to the value of the old items. Please contact us (lemonbrat@gmail.com) within 10 days of receiving an item to qualify for an exchange. You are responsible for shipping both ways.
Items must be returned to us in a completely unused condition. We cannot ship out new items until old items are received and verified to be in an unused condition.
Due to the customizable items we sell, all sized clothing exchanges are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Please check our size charts in detail before ordering.
Sellerās Rights
We reserve the right to cancel an order for any reason. The buyer will be issued a refund in that case. We reserve the right to adjust our Terms of Service agreement at any time.
This section covers commissions of fursuits. That includes partials, full suits, or fursuit components.
YOU MUST OWN THE CHARACTER RIGHTS OF THE CHARACTER YOU ARE LOOKING TO COMMISSION.
Order Process
For a good frame of reference for how we operate, we recommend you read through the Order Process page.
We negotiate and discuss your commission details with you in detail, in order to compose a detailed invoice that covers all the major components, details, and preferences. Your order is made to these specifications.
Changes from the invoice details or add-ons not covered in the invoice can incur more charges. We will never begin work on something before you have agreed to pay for it.
Commissioners must be paid in full, as well as have their measurements and DTD (if receiving a bodysuit, fursuit shirt, or fursuit pants) sent in to us before we begin work on the commission.
**IF YOU FAIL TO SEND US THE REQUIRED MEASUREMENTS AND/OR A DTD WITHIN A TIMELY MANNER (WITHIN 4 MONTHS FROM DATE OF FULL PAYMENT), YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF YOUR CUSTOM COMMISSION INCURRING MORE CHARGES DUE TO INCREASES IN SUPPLY, LABOR AND TIME COSTS.** This is due to us reevaluating our costs of labor every 4-6 months.
Also, we generally use Crocs (or similar) in our foot paws! If you would like for us to use something different, please discuss with us and we can generally accommodate this for an additional charge / if you send NEW shoes in.
We provide Work in Progress (WIPs) photos during the construction process. Some WIPs represent construction milestones. We require these Milestone WIPs to be approved by you before proceeding.
These include, but are not limited to: images of fur/fabric swatches, the head carve before it is furred, and images of the completed fursuit.
Edits during the Construction Process
We work from your reference images and detailed invoice to create your commission. If you see WIPs we send and want tweaks or small adjustments along the way, we will accommodate, within reason.
If you want changes that go against previously discussed details or previously confirmed WIPs, then we might need to charge extra for those changes to happen. This is because we have completed the commission to your previously stated specification, and an adjustment against those statements creates more work. We will let you decide if you want to pay for the adjustment, or if we should proceed as-is.
Payments
We prefer payment through Paypal. However if you have another preference, we may be able to work with you. Please discuss with us during the negotiation process.
Customers can opt to Pay in Full or start a Payment Plan.
Payment Plans require you to be able to put down 1/3rd of the total cost of your commission up front. After that, you can make monthly installments until it's paid off. We ask for a minimum of at least $300 a month.
We do not add you to the queue until 100% of payment AND measurements have been received.
If you need to postpone payments for awhile, we may be able to work with you. Please email us directly to give us a heads up before payments elapse to discuss your options. Options can include pausing production until you can start paying again, a partial refund (see refund policy) or reducing the list of components you want to purchase so your total is lower.
**IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU/RECEIVE A PAYMENT FOR MORE THAN THREE (3) MONTHS, YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF YOUR CUSTOM COMMISSION'S PRICE INCREASING DUE TO INCREASES IN SUPPLY, LABOR, AND TIME COSTS.**
**IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE ANY FORM OF COMMUNICATION FROM YOU, AND YOU ELAPSED ON PAYMENTS TOWARDS YOUR PAYMENT PLAN FOR TWELVE (12) MONTHS, WE WILL CONSIDER YOUR COMMISSION AS ABANDONED, AND THAT YOU HAVE FORFEIT ALL PAYMENTS MADE.**
Color/Fabric Matching
Please be aware that there is a limited color palette available for fabrics (fur, fleece, minky cuddle, faux leather) compared to the limitless possibilities that can be depicted in reference art. We try our best to match colors as best we can, but there will be some times when there is not a color close to a color in your reference. We will provide you with the closest color samples we have access to for you to choose from.
We cannot guarantee fabric matches to previously purchased items. Not for items from another buyer, and not for items you got from us at a previous time. We try to match as close as possible, but sometimes fabrics are discontinued, and sometimes colors obtained from the same manufacturer can vary between dye batches.
Wearability of Fursuits
Buyer understands that fursuits are bulky, claustrophobic, hot, and have less visibility than normal eye sight. We are not responsible for any injury you may incur while in suit. Including, but not limited to: fatigue, overheating, heat stroke, falls, dizziness, panic due to claustrophobia.
Please take care of yourself in suit! Take breaks, drink water, and have a friend be your handler in unfamiliar territory.
Buyer Responsibility
Buyer must provide accurate Ref Sheet, Duct Tape Dummy (if applicable), shoe size, and measurements. We rely on these to make your commission accurately.
- Buyer is responsible for proper care of their fursuit:
- Do not pick up head by ears or nose
- Brush regularly
- Wear a balaclava and clean socks to prevent build up of sweat inside parts
- Wash head and bodysuit consistently
- Avoid getting eyes of fursuit wet
- Avoid mud, wine, coffee or anything else known to stain
- Store in a cool and dry location
- Do not store for a long period of time unwashed (the stink ābakes inā)
- Do not expose to heat (like leaving outdoors, or in a hot car)
- Hang dry only
- Send us your measurements and/or DTD in a timely manner
- **IF YOU FAIL TO SEND US THE REQUIRED MEASUREMENTS AND/OR A DTD WITHIN A TIMELY MANNER (WITHIN 2 MONTHS FROM DATE OF FULL PAYMENT), YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF YOUR CUSTOM COMMISSION INCURRING MORE CHARGES DUE TO INCREASES IN SUPPLY, LABOR AND TIME COSTS.** This is due to us reevaluating our costs of labor every few months.
Turn Around Time
We do not begin patterning orders until the customer has paid in full and we have received their measurements and DTD (if you got a bodysuit).
Our turnaround time is approximately 1 year from the date of full payment AND receipt of the commissioner's measurements (and DTD, if relevant). This can vary if a design is particularly complex, or if there are highly unique components, features, padding, etc.
- Things that could delay your Turn Around Time
- Not sending your measurements and DTD within 2 months of full payment.
- Not responding to email communications (especially when we send WIPs we need approved) in a timely fashion.
- Changes to designs or add-ons mid-way through commission.
Shipping
We insure packages for the full value of your commission and require signature confirmation for your safety.
Upon shipment, you will be sent an automated confirmation email that includes your tracking number. Please check your email (and spam folder - just in case!) for your notification.
Once you've approved your suit, we will invoice you for the shipping cost!
Once paid, your package will arrive via FedEx Ground Shipping (or FedEx International Economy if applicable), unless discussed otherwise. The average shipping time is 3-5 business days within the US, and 7-12 days internationally.
Please be aware that International orders (those outside of the United States) may be subject to Customs charges and holds that are entirely out of our control. These are country-specific taxes that many countries charge when goods are imported. We did not charge you for these taxes, and are therefore not responsible for paying them.
Fursuit Warranty
If your suit arrives with any fitment issues or is defective in any way, please contact us (lemonbrat@gmail.com) right away to arrange an edit. If we are in error, we are responsible for shipping both ways.
Your fursuit has a 3 month warranty from the date of arrival to you, the buyer. This covers repairs of rips, popped seams, sizing adjustments, and adhesion failure. Please contact us to arrange a fix. While under warranty, buyer pays shipping to seller, and seller pays shipping back to buyer. Buyer is responsible for ensuring the suit is returned to us in a clean condition.
Warranty does not cover damage incurred from misuse or rough-housing in fursuit. It does not cover sizing issues due to buyer providing incorrect measurements. Making adjustments to the fursuit yourself can void the warranty.
Suit Repairs
Please expect your suit to go through normal wear and tear. The bottom of feet wear down, airbrushing fades over washes, etc. If you take proper care of your fursuit it can last for years. There are times where your suit may need touch-ups or small fixes.
We can do these fixes, replace items, or touch-up airbrushing if needed. Please see our entry above concerning color/fabric matching.
You may contact us (lemonbrat@gmail.com) at any time you need a repair. We will assess the damage and charge accordingly based on the estimated hours to fix the problem. Buyer to pay shipping both ways.
Buyer is responsible for ensuring the suit is returned to us in a clean condition.
Fursuit Refunds
Please be sure you want the commission and it is within your budget before purchase!
Refunds are only available to fursuits that are currently in production. In production is defined as the point in time where a customer has begun paying for their suit.
Please email us directly if you have any reason to seek a refund. We would like the opportunity to work with you to ensure you are getting what you want.
If you decide to get a refund, we automatically keep at least 25% of the full commission amount as a fee for supplies and communication. That rate increases as we get farther into your construction process. We will determine how much is due for refund based on the amount of work we have completed.
Once a Fursuit has been constructed it is no longer eligible for a refund.
Sellerās Rights
We reserve the right to cancel an order for any reason. Buyer will be issued a refund in that case. We reserve the right to adjust our Terms of Service agreement at any time.
Photos of Commissions
We reserve the right to use any photography or videos that we take of commssioned work as posts to our social media, advertising of any kind, or print materials.
